Hi I'm Darren,
I am originally from the country and joined the military at 17. I am a proud member of the Gumbaingir mob. I started work at MMM in NSW when I was nearly 18. I have worked at leading stations all around the country. Being a soldier who served in the SASR for many years, taught me confidence, respect and working in a team. I have been in radio in some form since 1980.
I am also a former Australian representative at sport (indoor cricket) and after leaving the army worked as a counsellor for over 30 years. I am single and have 5 children including twins. Two of my sons also played representative sport one for Australia in cricket. I came from a family of 21 and music is very important to me and I have a weird wicked sense of humour and laugh daily. I ran my own music business as well for over 20 years.
